9:30 AM         Review 5E Model (lesson plan versus lesson cycle) as proposed by Jim Barufaldi (Principal Investigator TRC, UT Austin) in 2002.

9:45 AM         Introduction to Chemistry; Connections to MS TEKS (Region 20 chart)

10:00 AM       Investigation 1: Mystery powders/Chemical Interactions FOSS kit (Chem. Inter., p. 9 and p. 11 Chemical Interactions Lab Notebook)

11:00 AM       Conclusions/Evidence of chemical reactions – Best Practices (types of word walls, anchor charts, differentiation for ELLs, Special Populations, and utilization of mnemonics/memory tools); Inquiry Continuum/where different types of labs fit?
